For this battle, we have the What Doesn't Kill You rule set where monsters gain the Enrage ability which allows them to increase their speed and melee damage when they lose health and Earthquake where monsters receive damage every turn unless they have Flying. I have ignored the Stampede since among the modern cards there are only 4 monsters that have the Trample that falls to the element limitations and none of them has Flying. Thinking of this conditions, I choose the following line- up:
Summoner: I used Grandmaster Rathe which gives +1 armor on all monsters so that they can earn extra protection from the rule set damage with the addition of Void Armor that forces magic attacks to hit armor first and Amplify which increases reflected damage.
1st Position: I used Pelacor Conjurer Which has the Magic Reflect to reflect magic damage and Phase so avoid magic damage and with Flying it wont received Earthquake damage.
2nd Position: I placed the Dax Paragon on the of chance that the opponent either use Uriel the Purifier for Life or Cursed Windeku for Death which both have the Heal ability and seal it with Affliction but also become the Opportunity target if the opponent use Celestial Harpy since it has the same health for the next cards I will be using but was the nearest from the 1st position.
3rd Position: I placed Adelade Brightwing with the speed increase due to Swiftness and has the Resurrect ability. It can also Repair the armor of an allied monster and has Immunity against negative status effects. The Flying also made it unaffected from Earthquake damage.
4th Position: I used Pelacor Arbalest which will be the main damage dealer for my team with Double strike ability that allows it to attack twice and also has Flying.
Battle Phase
Round 1:
The opponent does not uses Uriel the Purifier or Cursed Windeku but instead make a similar team with the difference of that they have Sould Fiend and Celestial Harpy but the opponent only got a gold level team and my team still works on the way that Dax Paragon acts as a target for Opportunity. No one dies on this round but my team manages to bring the health of their Pelacor Conjurer to 3 but that said the same thing for my Dax Paragon as it suffers reflected damage from the opponent's Pelacor Conjurer and which now has it's armor reduced to 0 by Celestial Harpy.
Round 2:
Earthquake damage applied to the beginning of the round, Dax Paragon loses another -2 health while the Soul Fiend on the opponent side loses it's armor.
After attacking Pelacor Conjurer, Dax Paragon got defeated due to the reflected damage, then it got Resurrect by Adelade Brightwing with it's armor restored but attacked ones again by Celestial Harpy, losing it's armor on it.
Pelacor Arbalest attacks Pelacor Conjurer of the opponent and got it defeated but then Resurrect by the opponent's Adelade Brightwing with a restored armor and Devine Shield.
My Team's Adelade Brightwing restore the armor for my Pelacor Conjurer then attacked Pelacor Conjurer where it got 2 damage from Magic Reflect. The opponent's Adelade Brightwing got the armor for Soul Fiend restored but misses its attack on my Pelacor Conjurer making it to have 0 damage.
Round 3:
Earthquake damage applied to the beginning of the round, Dax Paragon got defeated health while the Soul Fiend on the opponent side loses it's armor.
- My teams Pelacor Arbalest ha defeated Pelacor Conjurer now for good followed by Adelade Brightwing defeating Soul Fiend
*The opponent's Pelacor Arbalest also attacks but only manages to remove the armor of my Pelacor Conjurer as it misses the next one. Same when their Adelade Brightwing attacked.
- Celestial Harpy attacked Adelade Brightwing and loses it's armor.
Round 4:
Every cards now have Flying so the rule set damage won't be applied.
My Pelacor Arbalest attacked Adelade Brightwing dealing 3 damage followed by my Adelade Brightwing finishing it of with magic attack while also restoring the armor of Pelacor Conjurer.
The Opponent's Pelacor Conjurer got in the 1st position, making it unable to attack while Celestial Harpy attacked Adelade Brightwing.
Round 5 and 6:
For round 5, the attack from my team has taken down Pelacor Arbalest so the only remaining monster was Celestial Harpy.
So at round 6, the same pattern of attack was done and Celestial Harpy was defeated.
Battle Recap
Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at 3speak or in Splinterlands.
Did your Strategy Work?
Dax Paragon did not work as what I intended for this battle as what I intended and it got defeated defeated early on but it has still somewhat useable for diverting the damage from Celestial Harpy which will always be a hit since it got True Strike so I'm still glad that I used it on this match.
Do You Like Dax Paragon
Dax Paragon has the Amplify ability even at Bronze level and for that, it has become more valuable more than ever since we now have Briar Patch, Fire & Regret, and Counter Magic rule set which deals reflected damage towards the opponent and with this card on play, it will increase the damage the opponent will get from those rule sets.
What will you try differently next time?
Summoners
As I said, with reflected rule sets in play, having Dax Paragon was for the best but when there isn't you can just use Iltahin to get the Return Fire damage or use monsters such as Shieldbearer and Almo Cambio but if you want it to be also stronger on it's own, then the use of Delwyn Dragonscale and Archmage Arius would allow this card to gain additional magic damage.
