I hope you are all well. I have been giving away DEC in all these posts but it seems I have lost some followers after the fork. Because of that, I am adding the offer to win DEC to the title for a bit. In the past, I wanted to hide for true players but I don't want to have only 2 people enter either. I share this on both Hive and Steem so you can enter on either post. All you have to do is read the post and give me some feedback on my strategies or just some feedback about the game and you can win 500 DEC. Hope to have to do some work this week to get the winner.
Broken Arrows is one that I bet a lot of us don't like. Ranged monsters are strong in this game for sure. So when a team loses them it hurts a lot. Life seems to get hurt more than others but really all the teams have good ranged cards. So I will talk more about how I think you s should set up up your team. You can expect either a lot of magic on the other side or a lot of sneak monsters. For that reason, you want to use a tank with void, and magic reflect if you can. Lord Arianthus is used a lot but you can also play death and use Hunted Spirit or play Earth and use Flesh golem with void and self-heal. This Fight show two good setups for this ruleset. I only won that easy because I had higher level cards. But using a card with silence is a good idea. If your tank has void you might have some mages do no damage to him with that combo. Poison is also good here so Earth has a few cards that can do that. Life can build a good sneak team for this fight if you want to try that but it needs to be a higher mana match. I think Fire can do a-okay team I just don't play fire much. Water is used a lot by people by default but if you have void and silence it can weaken them a lot. Sneak magic monsters are really cool for this fight also. Let me know how you fight this one.
Even Stevens is simple in theory you just use the even cards only. I always pick the team based on the tank I can use. This means that I don't play Death unless the mana is super high and I can use the 10 cost tank Dark Ha'on. Dark Ha'on with Corrupted Pegus is a nice combo and death has some nice even cost mages to round out a good high mana match team for this setup. Earth is good here as they have Flesh Golem and the new promo card to tank and keep one of their healers. Water loses both healers so I don't love them in this but Ruler of the Sea can win a match so you can use them. I don't like Life because they lose both the good tanks and only have the slow golem. Fire can put a good team on the board for both low and high mana as they also have a 10 cost tank I just don't have him yet. You can watch this and laugh at how lucky I was. Or this one that shows a good Earth set up. Still, just make sure you think of one or two cards you know will be good for the match up then go with that team.
For of War is a bummer sometimes. I seem to mess up the most on this ruleset and forgot that sneak is gone. I laugh a bit as I watch my sneak guy doing nothing. I don't know why I do that. When I am not making that mistake I like Ranged monsters for this match up. I don't like magic because I feel like you run into a lot of magic reflect. Yet I am seeing headwinds more often so that can ruin your ranged team if you use the wrong guys. Your tank in this mode is going to be important. Then you have to remember the skills that do still attack from the back row, opportunity and reach. I like the Dragon team or Death to be able to play melee monsters. You need to be ready for a lot of ranged and magic coming at you. So shield, void, magic reflect, or return fire are a must-have on your tank. If you can play silence or headwinds do it. Both the fights I have to show you are low mana but give you an idea of the setup to start. Dragon and Death if mana was higher I would have just played guys with reach for the death team and opportunity for the dragons. You can just play ranged or magic teams but if the other team is ready for that you will lose a lot. Still might be good to just go Water or Life and take your chances. But I will a lot buy going for a different setup.
