I've recently bought a copy of Ifrit Rising and I wanted to test it out. Being currently one of the cheapest Legendaries on the market, I feel that there is more upside than downside for this Recharge ability going forward.
At first glance, this battle seemed pretty balanced. There were monsters with Immunity and Self-Heal on both sides.

Scavo Chemist, Small but Powerful
![]() | ![]() |
Scavo Chemist's Cleanse combined with Living Lava's Shield is often a powerful combo in the Noxious Fumes ruleset.
Not only Living Lava isn't affected by Poison anymore, but its Shield makes it very resilient against Melee and Ranged attacks, which often buys enough time for the Poison to do its damage in the opponent's lineup.
In this specific battle, however, there were Magic monsters that could deal a lot of damage to my Living Lava.
Fortunately enough, Scavo Chemist acted as a cheap second tank that absorbed Ruler Of The Seas' blast magic attacks thanks to the high health given by the Equalizer ruleset.
Doctor Blight & Ifrit Rising, an unexpected duo
![]() | ![]() |
Affliction repeatedly makes the difference in those high mana battles as the chances of encountering monsters with huge health points and healing abilities are frequent.
The upturn of the match came at the end of Round 5 when Doctor Blight afflicted Xenith Monk on its first attack. One round later, Xenith Monk was out of the way.
Indeed, the combination between Poison and the Recharge attack of Ifrit Rising was deadly enough in one single round. This kept alive the Forgotten One with one last but precious health point.

To be fair, this battle has not completely convinced me of the usefulness of the Recharge ability. Nevertheless, since I've learned from @hawks21 that Recharge could ignore Forcefield, I wonder if there are no other hidden or future use cases for this uncommon ability.
