Splinterlands wants to change the league system.
Here is the post:

My thoughts to this part:
"The Collection Score will be a measure of the size and level of each account's collection of cards. Then, in order to move to the next league, players will not only need to get the required number of rating points, but they will also need to have a high enough collection score.
The collection score is planned to be calculated by simply taking the sum of the DEC burn rate of all of the cards that the player owns that are not delegated out or listed for sale on the market and cards delegated to the player."
Does this make sense ?
Here is an example:
The Untamed Collection has a total of 24 common cards with a DEC value of 10.
Since you need 400 cards to bring a card to max level, this would be 4000 DEC, but there is a bonus on max level cards of 5%, including bonus 4200 DEC. If you have all 24 cards at max level, this is 100,800 DEC.
A single card with BCX 1 of a goldfoil-legendary-alpha or promo card has a DEC value of 150,000 DEC. For Example the Red Dragon goldfoil (promo card) at max level has a value of 630,000 DEC.
Let's go further and find that the Untamed edition also has 24 rare cards, which have a value (at max level including bonus) of 4830 DEC - for 24 cards, 115,920.
We therefore expect: 100,800 + 115,920 = 216,720 DEC for ALL 48 common and rare cards of the Untamed Edition at max level compared to 630,000 DEC for a single Red Dragon gold foil.
If we add the 12 epic cards to 9660 per max level card, we are at 115,920 + 216,720 = 332,640 DEC and then the 16 legendary cards to 11,550 DEC per max level card = 184,800 so we get 517,440 DEC.
So a single Red Dragon goldfoil at max level is worth more than ALL cards of the Untamed edition at max level according to this calculation method?
But let's look further in this post:
"The collection score change will also enable us to add another feature that has been heavily requested by some players for a while now - separate leaderboards for each league.
This means that players at all levels of play can compete each ranked season to be the best in their league and earn some extra season rewards similar to the Untamed booster packs given out to players who top the overall leaderboard each season in the game currently."
Sure, there will be absolute top players who will continue to fight for 1st place in Champion 1, but many players who don't think they have a chance to win a prize in Champion 1 will probably base their Collection Score on the fact that it is below the Value remains that is required for Champion 1.
We have seen the effect of a single card like a Red Dragon goldfoil, this is perhaps an extreme example , but even with cards that are far less worthy, you can influence the collection score.
For example, the case that a player in Champion 2 is in 2nd place and since he can no longer reach 1st place in a "sporty" way, he simply delegates a card to player at 1st place 30 seconds before the end of the season, so that he reaches the Collection Score of Champion 1 and suddenly the competitor reaches Champion 1 and he secured himself the 1st place in Champion 2.
Incidentally, the question arises what happens if you meet the collection score of a league, but then sell, give away, delegate or even just put in market to sell?
It would then be logical that you fall back into the league where your own collection points belong.
Then, as a player, I play the season normal until shortly before the end and then look in which league I can collect the best price - I then just have to put my card at a far overpriced price shortly before the end of the season (so that nobody will buy it from me) in the market and I'm already in the league where I can get the best price.
Is it really in the spirit of the inventor?
What is your opinion on this topic?
