This season I changed my cards around a little, and I changed my playstyle as well. More Green, less Malric all around, and it led to a much better outcome than last time. And because of the positive feedback on the last report, I welcome you to Season Report Card #2!

After scraping by for a long time, I then got a lot of momentum towards the end and actually made it to Champions I again for the first time in six months. For those newer to Splinterlands, back in those days you could still make it to the top league frequently using level 1-3 cards. But those days are clearly over now...

I like playing with Camila Sungazer. I'm also getting better at supporting her with the right cards. Especially pairing her up with Shieldbearer has been working very well! I have to get the hang of playing with Chanseus the Great though, and my phobia of Blue Magic Decks clearly has led me to various ill-timed deployments of Owster Rotwell... (am I the only one who reads that as "Owster Rotweil"?)

Lots of chicken, followed by overly hopeful applications of Tortisian Chief with substandard Tank setups. But absolutely stealing the show is the Octopider with a solid 80% win rate. Clearly I'm better off with Cheapo Reward Commons than Vintage Legendaries like Spirit of the Forest (with a coughs measly 33% win rate). The War Chaaang does hilariously bad, with two victories out of 12 matches....

I play will when there are no Legendaries, and the equal opportunity and stampede rulesets also work for me. I am understanding the need for few big monsters with Noxious Fumes, but it took me a while to figure it out and I think I'm still missing a few tricks there...

Solid Reward Cards this time around. I was especially happy with the 3 Gold Rares, all of which were from the new Reward Card additions!
Overall this was a solid season, and it makes me hope I can make Champions I next time around, and perhaps even try to scrape into the Top 50? Although I may need to get mopped up by Prince Rennyn decks a little less often to do so... ;)
Lastly, for those unaware: consider buying some ENTRY on the Hive Engine and joining for the DCity tournament. Quite often the price money is guaranteed to equal the amount you paid to get your ENTRY tokens :).
