For whatever reason, playing in Wild Gold was a lot tougher this season, so I spent the majority of my time in Modern Silver. I finished in 8th place and snagged a nice 10k DEC bonus for my efforts.

Tournaments were fairly hit or miss. The number of people entering multiple accounts is growing each season. It's getting to a point where the top 25 are, at times, only 10-15 people (sometimes less). There have even been instances where the top 10 were really only 3 different people. This lack of diversity makes things extremely boring.
I miss the days where I knew most of the people competing and we could poke fun or congratulate each other on Discord afterwards. It was a nice human aspect that fostered a fun community. Now, it's all about extracting as much as possible, as fast as possible and the community has become extremely toxic.

My streak FINALLY broke! 9 months and 3400+ chests later... Not only did I finally pull a Legendary reward card (Sorriel the Bale) during the season, I also pulled a Gold Foil copy at EOS!
It's been fun earning the new reward cards but I still can't stand the soul bound aspect of them. I've noticed a lot of Diamond/Champ players (that are earning cards at an exponential rate comparatively) using leveled copies of them in lower league tournaments where most people were, at the time, lucky to have 1 BCX. The card advantage is insane.
Unfortunately, this isn't going to change until tournaments are updated and according to Weirdbeard, that's not happening until the team either diverts resources to tournament updates or, most likely, the next bull run.

I tried rented for a couple Alpha tournaments this season. I broke even on one and profited on the other. I'm still on the fence if I'll give this another shot or not. The reg foil tourney payout makes renting barely worth it and the gold foil tourney is a bunch of pricey rentals with significantly higher risk of coming out negative.

My entire purpose for starting these reports was back up so I could track my SPS earnings. This season's earnings plus tournament earnings wasn't bad. I'd say another 1-2 seasons and I'll have recouped the SPS I spent to fix some holes in my collection. I'm sure I'll do the same thing again once my bags are a little more full.
I still have a lot of mixed feelings about the game. On one hand, I think it has a lot of potential and the new cards have definitely breathed some new life into things, but on the other hand, there's still a lot of glaring problems/quirks/flaws that the team doesn't seem to keen on dealing with.
In the end, I'm still earning in tournaments so I don't plan on going anywhere for now. Admittedly, that's a terrible mindset that I feel the team is also following. Meaning.. things are working well enough to keep people playing and earning so why waste time trying to fix anything? I think the whole "waiting on the next bull run" game plan is a horrible idea but we'll see what happens. As long as things actually get fixed, everything will hopefully be fine, but letting people continue to exploit a broken system without consequence in the meantime is terrible.
