Theme: DEEPLURKER
Edition: CHAOS LEGION
Rarity: COMMON
Element: WATER
Attack: MELEE
Abilities: OPPORTUNITY
Ruleset:
Healed out & Taking Sides with 99 Mana
That means, that all healing abilities are removed from Monsters and Summoners and Neutral Monsters may not be used in battles.
Lineup:
I like Kelya as Summoner because of the +1 Speed and +1 Armor.
The Deeplurker is very strong, so the speed makes him even stronger.
I chose the Diemonshark as tank. He is very fast and has strong armor. I put the Demented Shark in my team, because of his Inspire Ability. That gives +1 Melee Attack to all friendly monsters.
For that reason, i also chose the Flying Squid and put it on the second position. It has the Reach Ability and can make 3 melee damage.
I think in high Mana battles it is often a good idea to combine the Demented Shark with the Deeplurker and Flying Squid.
Then I put a second opportunity monster in the backline, the Feesting Seaweed. Last but not least I chose Nerissa Tridawn because of her 3 magic damage and her high LP.
In my battle I faced Djinn Oshannus, who is also very strong.
So see, what happened:
Round 1
The opponent uses Djinn Oshannus as tank. He has Magic Void, but in this situation it is not very helpful because of my melee monsters. He has also the Deeplurker and the Feesting Seawead, but my Demented Shark makes the difference and the Nerissa Tridwan is much stronger than his Venari Wavesmith.
It seems that the opponent didn't read the ruleset very well, because he put a healer in his team although the ruleset excludes healing. Better for me!
In Round 1 my Deeplurker and my Seawead kill the other Seawead, so the opponent looses his first monster.
Round 2
In Round to my team kills Oshannus and also the Venari Wavesmith. I think in this battle my advantage is to have 2 opportunity monsters to kill the backline of the opponent.
Round 3
In Round 3 the opponent kills my Diemonshark, but he made a good job as tank, because I have all my other monsters still left on the battlefield, and so I am able to defeat the Flying Squid.
Round 4
In the last Round it is easy for my Deeplurker and the Seawead to destroy the other team with 2 hits.
Conclusion:
The strategy to combine the Demented Shark with the Deeplurker and the Flying Squid worked very well, because of their amazing melee damage. It was also a goog idea to put a second opportunity monster in the backline to defeat the other backline very fast.
Whenever I play the Water Deck, I try to take the Deeplurker with my team, because he is very strong and the opportunity ability makes him very dangerous.
I hope you liked my battle and my thoughts about it.
