I love the smaller ATP 250 tournaments that don't have the big guns competing so much, they always represent a good opportunity for the more savvy tennis fan to find a good outsider to bet on.

This week in Atlanta I am going for my fellow Brit Daniel Evans to take home his first ever ATP trophy, something he came so close to securing earlier on this year at Delray Beach. Evans is 13.00 to win in Atlanta and the calibre of his opponents isn't so high so he represents a great outside bet.
Defending champion John Isner is the favourite to take home the silverware at 3.25, amazingly Isner has won 5 of the past 6 Atlanta tournaments in a row. It's his real stomping ground but last time Evans met Isner earlier this year at Delray beach he overcame big John in the Semi Finals 3-6, 6-2, 6-3. That was probably one of his biggest wins to date given Isner is a power house server and Evans managed to break him on many occasions and avoid any crunch tie break moments.
I have no doubt Evans will be eyeing this tournament as a potential break through for himself given the competition line up. Other worthy adversaries are Grigor Dimitrov, Taylor Fritz and Francis Tiafoe. Evan's is capable of neutralising all these players with his slice backhand and net game. Evan's main strength is his varied game play. As an excellent grass court player he has developed a real good touch at the net and this coupled with his backhand slice can catch any aggressive player off guard who hasn't quiet got the artillery to blast through him. That means any player outside the top 10 is vulnerable to him on any given day.
I don't see any players in Atlanta who Evans can't overcome given his form this year, as a British tennis fan, I really hope he can finally secure his first ATP trophy in Atlanta.
