I walked past a neighbourhood today, one that I hadn't walked by in a while, and saw this incredible sight. It was like pink snow. The flowers, agitated by the gentle breeze, where shedding from the cherry trees. It really did look like it was snowing pink snow.
I stoped to take some photos, of course, as well as some b-roll video content for my stock pile. I do that - photograph and take videos of beautiful things I see even if I don't intend to use the photo or clip immediately. I have a built up archive of clips that I can draw from when inspiration hits. Sometimes I even derive inspiration by looking through my archived photos or videos.
An elderly lady stopped to talk to me while I was shooting the video. We both agreed that we were looking at something 'quite splendid indeed'. I love how old people talk - they have such a grasp of the language that is increasingly missing in my generation and younger. The pick their words so precisely to create short, concise, sentences that mean exactly what they intend to communicate. Nothing more, nothing less.
There is a nice outdoor coffee shop overlooking this beautiful scene that I noticed. I had an Americano and breathed in some mildly polluted 'fresh' air. The sky was grey and voluminous looking. The rain was coming. My weather app confirmed it. This scene will soon be gone until next year.
Peace & Love,
Adé
