The player was loaned to Chelsea from Real Madrid and have made an instant impact in Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea team. The coach has already expressed willingness to keep the player but Real Madrid may not allow that to happen.
Real Madrid never wanted to sell Kovacic but the player had insisted that he needed to move. The player was home grown attacked Madrid and the Los Blancos club had considered Jim a permanent replace for Luka Modric when the Croatian retired but Kovacic, another Croatian didn't want to play secondary fiddle and decried lack of game time as realm for move.
