SPS DAO Project Manager Month 20 Invoicing and Recap
Howdy Splintenials, hope everyone is doing well! As usual there's a lot going on with the DAO and we're gearing up for some of our biggest initiatives yet. I'll do a quick rundown of the bigger projects I'm working on below and if you have any questions feel free to drop them below.
This month I worked with Dave and Blaze quite a bit on fleshing out the idea for the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund which I subsequently ran a proposal for and the DAO approved. There has been some more extensive setup going on after the DAO approved the initial concept to formalize the logistics of the idea and you can currently vote on a slate of community representatives to help lead the project right now in the ongoing proposal!
One of the bigger background projects that has been going on is preparing to have the DAO launch its own bridges and begin deploying SPS to new EVMs. There are two main drivers to this work, one of which is that I'm trying to get direct token purchases in game through Unlimit while we wait on Ramp to integrate with HIVE. More options should allow more access to users in different regions as well as provide redundancy for fiat to SPS conversions.
The other big driver behind this work is that Coinbase has finally announced that it will begin doing something that I've been hoping would come at some point since BASE launched, which is that they will start supporting DeFi in their wallet. This means that if we bridge SPS to BASE and set up a liquidity pool, it should allow for easy buying and selling of SPS to U.S. facing customers. (Now if only Binance would integrate BSC DeFi...)
One of the other somewhat related projects is that we have now executed the previous DeFi overhaul proposal which created several new LPs and trading pairs on PancakeSwap and have the LP incentives prepared to be sunset on July 31st. I've been monitoring the volume passing through these positions and it's not bad, but I think we'd all like to see it going much higher before that project could be deemed a real success.
There's also been quite a bit of housekeeping work this month between coordinating with Treasurers, the Foundation and the team to execute on the various projects. Tournaments have now been updated with the new icons and branding to be in line with the current terminology the team is using since leagues were sunset. We also had to organize a swift Validator release due to newly discovered edge case with HIVE micro-forking to prevent potential problems in the future.
As this project continues to grow and we keep working to define Web3 gaming and what all a DAO is capable of, I just want to thank all of you that are playing a part in this project as well, be that the treasurers, the Foundation crew, the guys volunteering for the Crypto Gaming Recovery Fund Committee and all of the rest of you that vote and share ideas.
