Introduction
After a 15 day vacation I'm here again to post an analysis of one of my battles.
In the silver league, before starting to face Yodin and Llama, there is a Splinter Life combo that appears in several matches, today a little replaced by the combo of Splinter Water with the new Summoner Kelya Frendul. It's about using several monsters with the Sneak or Opportunity skills combined with a monster with the Inspire skill, which provides 01 melee attack damage to all monsters and a Summoner that provides Shield or Divine Shield to increase the longevity of the team. I myself am a fan of this composition and I use it in several games (Greengineer, 2022-a).
In this post I bring a combination that can counter these users without using Summoner Mylor Crownling or Demoralize skill combos with summoners that reduce melee attack, taking advantage of the Amplify skill that became more accessible after the launch of the Chaos Legion set.
The strategy before the battle
The battle did not allow the use of legendary monsters and healing abilities were disabled. My opponent had a history full of battles using the summoner Tyrus Paladium with monsters with the Sneak ability and the amount of 28 MP available was enough to assemble a good team along this line.
I usually counter users of this combo with Summoner Mylor Crownling, but it wasn't available in my deck, so I needed to think of a way to fight my opponent with what I had available.
There were 02 monsters with the Thorns skill in my Life deck, the Enchanted Defender and the Crystal Jaguar. However, they weren't enough to eliminate the entire enemy backline, so I needed to make every hit from Thorns that my opponent took more painful and for that I had the help of Dax Paragon, with the Amplify ability:
- Amplify: Increases the damage of Magic Reflect, Return Fire, and Thorns by 1.
To increase the hits needed to eliminate my two monsters with Thorns I used Summoner Lorna Shine combined with Truthspeaker. To speed up the elimination of my opponent I selected the Silvershield Assassin and with the 05 MP left I put the Silvershield Paladin as a tank.
Once assembled, the team was hoping that my enemy would continue in the same line of his history, which luckily for me happened:
The battle
My opponent came with Tyrus Paladium using 03 monsters with the Sneak skill (Silvershield Assassin, Feral Spirit and Stitch Leech) buffed with the Inspire of the Silvershield Knight and protected by the Defender of Truth. As a tank he selected the Pelacor Conjurer with its low MP consumption.
At the end of the first round all the monsters were still alive in the arena, my Enchanted Defender had lost all his shield, but the 03 Sneak monsters also lost.
At the end of the second round I lost my first monster, which took my opponent's Feral Spirit with it. His Silvershield Assassin was also eliminated by hitting my Crystal Jaguar. My opponent's Defender of Truth was exposed and about to die.
At the end of the third round my Silvershield Assassin eliminated 02 enemies and my Dax Paragon was about to kill himself by hitting Pelacor with Magic Reflect.
At the end of the fourth round I lost an ally and removed the shield of the Silvershield Knight from my opponent.
After a fifth round with no kills, in the sixth round there was the elimination of the last 02 monsters of my opponent.
Leaving your strategy exposed makes unlikely teams appear that can destroy you, as happened in Greengineer (2022-b, 2022-c, 2022-d and 2022-e). This happens quite often in the lower rated leagues due to the presence of many users who completely depend on rental cards to have competitive decks, causing them to focus on few Splinters.
I hope you liked the strategy to counterattack teams that abuse the Sneak skill. Follow the battle link if you want to follow in detail: Greengineer (2022-f).
PS: Sorry if there is any error in the above writing, as English is not my mother language.

Haviam 02 monstros com a habilidade Thorns no meu deck Life, o Enchanted Defender e o Crystal Jaguar.
A batalha
O Defender of Truth de meu oponente ficou exposto e prestes a morrer.
