I started out in steemit almost 2-1/2 years ago to this day.

Why I got into Steemit?
Since the start of 2017 I have been hooked to crypto as I believe the technology and innovation it holds will be put it to good use in the future. At the prime of steem price's peak near $8 it was thrilling. Everyday I would post and upvote a ton of content. The social media on steemit was hitting on all cylinders. I had bot upvotes, real people upvotes, and just a fun and exciting to see the crypto prices mooning. However the real world market value of crypto has not been fairing well for crypto holders since. A lot of crypto prices are now well below their 2018 peaks and not much of a recovery has happen since. This has been the main reason I lost most of my interest in crypto. The fact of looking at -80% to -95% losses daily is just unbearable.
There was not much motivation to go on steemit even though I have vested a ton of time and fiat into the blockchain with the staggering losses. I am not a programmer/software developer by trade. Just an average joe so ever post I made I lack any profitable upvotes. Even with a big upvote the rate of return the actual real fiat cost was not enough to motivate me to continue being active daily. I am talking about pennies per a post. However I always had an investor mindset to always on the look out for the next best deal. I stumbled onto Splinterlands and never looked back.
Why I love Splinterlands and that in turn kept me on the Steemit platform?

Once I got a basic understanding of Splinterlands and how the game is played I came to realize that a lot of profit could be had if one play the game. For instance Splinterlands have several aspects for players to earn steem/sbd and their internal game token DEC.
- Play and win battles to earn DEC and reward cards. They can then be traded for Steem/SBD.
- Buy/Sell/Trade cards to turn a profit. There is Steemmonsters Market, Peak Monster Market and many other resources to make a profit on flipping cards.
- Social Media Splinterlands support that will upvote your Splinterlands blog posts and discord channel. By far the main reason for me to stick on the steemit platform is the wonderful Splinterland's curation team and discord channel.
The Splinterland's curation team members: @travelgirl, @clove71, @isaria and @carrieallen had manually upvoted my blog posts related to Splinterlands. They created weekly contests to make people play the game and talk about their experiences to earn a big upvote in the range of $4- $9 just by splinterlands alone. On top of all that they have an official discord channelthat entertain anything related and not related to Splinterlands. Help new and advance players on the game and really a easy and quick to response with discord for all players instead of using just the steem blockchain.
Why I am on Steemit and will continue indefinitely!
One of the biggest aspects I am sticking to steemit is because I found a community that I can engage in and have fun being apart of. The who purpose of Steemit and SMT tokens/tribes to me was always to find communities to be apart of and share each other experiences. Since I play Splinterland daily I have come to almost post daily on Steemit. In turn I have learned more about other tribes as I have more time going through other communities that my fellow Splinterland's players enjoy.

I recently picked up on the @steemleo community in regards to investing and finance. My main reason to get into crypto was to make money, but instead I have found friends and people I can relate to. This is more than what I have hope for and intend to continue this as long as I can. I hope others can find inspiration on steemit as there are many tribes to be apart of and gain consistent will to always be on steemit to interact and share their experiences. Like the old saying goes, life is not about the end result but living the journey that brings us to our destinations. Best of luck to all steemians. Thank you!
