Hi Hivers,
Below you can see my set up of how I work "fully" on solar power when hiving.
On the picture is my laptop and in the middle solar chargeable lithium battery. The battery contains (usb) plugs for DC and two plugs for AC 110/220 volt currents. The laptop uses some 30 watt; the DC 3 to 9 watt depending what USB port you use.
The built in convertor (DC to AC) needs to be cooled so a fan turns on every 5 minutes.
The battery is fully charged with a 100 Watt solar panel that in theiry can do a charge from 0% to 100% in 5 hours. However the panel never delivers more than 83 Watt where I live; the battery is never really 0% and the charger normally stops at 95% or a little less for reasons I not fully understand.
But it si really fun to have some gear ready to use and which can also be taken out for camping etc
The battery is from CHinese ALLPOWERS and it is the 500 Watthours version. So 500WH means you can run a TV set of 100 watt for 5 hours. Or a 5 watt LED lamp for 100 hours. It shoudl be able to do 3000 cycles so then years life time.
What is your expereince with solar ?
see you
