Not very long ago, I was at a friend's place to spend some good time and something occurred that made me think of this post.
We decided to take a stroll to just sightsee and the area being somewhat dense with grasses,my friend had told me that there had been sights of wildlife recently.
It happened that we stumbled along a gathering of some people and we were obliged to see what the gathering was all about.
It was an alligator that had been killed and was being readied to be roasted for consumption.
Now, i love wildlife a lot and the sight of this made me moody for the rest of that day.
It got me thinking because #Nigeria has a number of animal and plant species that are endangered or vulnerable and the attitude displayed by most Nigerians is highly suggestive that we wouldn't even mind if majority of the wildlife go into extinction

Rare aardvark captured and ready to be sold (...potentially dead.)
A rarer still Potto killed.
This kill-wildlife-on-sight attitude not helping issues and I think a proper orientation is needed which should originate from somewhere.
We could all play a part in aiding the conservation of endangered species.
-Speak up whenever there is a threat to wildlife around you
-Do all in your power to protect their habitats
-Call appropriate agencies whenever there is a stray being threatened
