The Apotheosis of Washington in the Capitol
There has been and enormous cry to halt the joining of religion and state. The trouble is that Washington DC is a religion and the evidence is everywhere.
The name of the neighborhood of the Capitol by no mistake is called Capitol Hill as according to Wilipedia: "Capitolinus (Latin: Aedes Iovis Optimi Maximi Capitolini, Italian: Tempio di Giove Ottimo Massimo, English: "Temple of Jupiter Best and Greatest on the Capitoline") was the most important temple in Ancient Rome, located on the Capitoline Hill."
The Capitol building was originally called the Temple Of Liberty.
The design of the Capitol is based on interpretations of the Pantheon in Rome. The ancient Pantheon was built by a Roman emperor to venerate seven gods of the state religion.

The fresco on the interior of the rotunda of the Capitol also depicts seven gods of the ancient state religion, the most important is the gods assists George Washington to divine status. Her name is Libertas also known now as Lady Liberty, the patron god of the state religion of Washington DC.
