Whew. Well, it’s been an interesting week. Payouts have been going down even lower than the sinking price of Steem and, frankly, it’s been a bit of a bummer to feel like I’m backsliding on my progress this far.
However, I think I've found a few things on my end that are having an effect, too.
First, I’ve gone from my 4 post a day push to about 2 to 3 posts a day. This is partly because I’m planning a trip to Austin soon (pics and posts to come) and because I’m having to spend a little more time to various other kinds of work.
I’ve also been experimenting with smaller posts. I love my long, thoroughly researched posts, but they just aren’t a sustainable, every day type of thing. I know that if I try to do one (let alone several) every single day I’ll inevitably end up burning out or making lower quality posts, so I’m trying to learn to make valuable smaller posts. I know it’s possible, but I’m having trouble getting a bead on exactly what the best method is to go about it.
I’m thinking that the main thing is that I get back to 4 posts a day. There’s a lot I have planned for this blog, but the going is tough sometimes: it can be difficult to justify spending so much time here when loving crafting posts that sometimes barely pull in a dollar. But I remind myself that Steemit is a rather long game: to win you do have to hang in there.
Anyway, enough griping. My plan for getting through this next period is to up my post rate starting after my return from Austin. I’d love to hear everyone else’s recent experience on the platform. Leave your thoughts below.
