Welcome back to the #statewars brought to us by @steemusa! Day 3 is about an event, the event of the year even! The best event in Madison is the Dane County Farmers Market, something I talked about in my last #StateWars entry. So I won't rehash that, instead I will tell you about the best of the best, seeing Tom Petty at Summer Fest!
Of course Tom Petty is now resting in Peace, but he did headline at SummerFest more than any other artist1, so much so that when I was growing up I thought that Tom Petty was from Wisconsin. Turns out he is a Floridian, but I won't tell if you won't.

If your idea of a fun time is to listen to music while standing around drinking, this Festival is for you! In fact, I personally have never seen more people standing around drinking in the same place as at SummerFest!
SummerFest has 11 different stages where performances take place, and according to my sources they have more than 800 acts and 100 performances every year!2 And surrounding each of those stages, people are standing around and drinking. There are people, usually those already drunk, that try to talk while the live music is playing, but mostly people just keep busy either drinking or dancing while listening to the incredible experience.

This article is now about a day behind on the #statewars calandar, and so far has no poetry to speak of! I am working on a poem though for Nihilistic Rainbow #5, and I have been trying to write a daily rhyme on @chrisroberts' #dailylimerick blog, which I think is one of the more fantastic ideas I've seen around Steemit lately. If you find yourself wondering where is the poetry, click on either one of these guys to get your fix.
We had a 'hitch in our giddy-up' with our travel plans, and are hanging out in Bogotá limbo for a while. We might have an update soon, but until I can get back to a normal schedule, I make no promises on article length or frequency!

Thank you for reading, I got a little off topic today and only had one rhyme today (best of the best, Tom Petty at SummerFest!), but I am happy to keep up my writing discipline. This for me has been the most valuable part of steemit, I am still writing more than ever! See you next time!
