While out walking yesterday morning I came across this statue at the corner of someone's elevated garden. This is unusual as very few houses have gardens. Most people like to build their houses over the entire plot of land, regardless of the shape of the plot. The picture is my entry for today's #statuefriday #sevendaysoutside challenge by @erikah
I know she said her intention was to get people to look at everyday things differently and notice more. I can certainly say that I see more detail around me now than before I started looking at @erikah #sevendaysoutside challenge themes.

I suspect the statue is of Calypso the nymph from Homer's Odyssey, in which Calypso trapped Odysseus and kept him there for 7 years. This area is called Calypso and has the famed Calypso Cave which collapsed some years ago as the area is geologically unsound.
In fact, it was Calypso cave I was walking to. There is a viewpoint there, overlooking Ramla Bay which is the largest of the beaches on Gozo (Calypso) and the sea to Sicily. https://steemit.com/christmaswalk/@honeycup-waters/a-walk-in-the-sunshine-after-christmas
A beautiful day to walk and to get this photograph with the gorgeous blue sky.
