The Story Telling
When we watch movies or cartoon series, there are some very fine details. Sometimes we are too obsessed with the story and we escape the details. These details are used to enchance the visuals and it not the focal point. But sometimes these details do tell a story or give a build up to the next story.
We also insert these details for the die hard fans who would be watching it for the 2nd or 3rd time. That way, it is new discovery each time. It is like finding a hidden treasure and be excited about it.
This is the storyboard that I try to insert these tiny details...
I separate it into a wide angle view...
The details for the little hints and extra props for the observant or die hard fans.
The idea here is a mysterious jungle that is eerie and unknown to the hero. I include some insects in the foreground and far deep in the jungle a mysterious creature is observing and you can see his silhouette. It is a bigfoot!
This is the final scene after the inclusion of the tiny details. Having such undiscovered details can also lead to another spinoff or a continuation of the story. What was not discovered earlier can now be zoomed in for a new set of story telling...
This concept is used far more often than we realise. For instance in Jurassic Park the Costa Rican labourers are seen not working most of the time.
