This is the first of our weekly updates designed to keep you in the loop, to highlight what's new, and to raise some funds for the volunteer moderators who make Steem.Chat the awesome place that it is.

Some more big news:
We're currently working on integrating SteemConnect. Some of the biggest questions and concerns that have been raised have been around verification and safety when it comes to Steemit identity in chat. We're working on the option to log in through SteemConnect to show that you are the 'verified' account your screenname says you are. This will go a long way towards accountabilty and safety in chat when it comes to things like the rash of phishing scams currently underway on all platforms.
We have some more really exciting stuff on the horizon, but we wanted to get this weekly post into place to start making Steem.Chat more accessible to everyone! Remember, all liquid funds from @steem.chat posts will be split between our volunteer moderators to thank them for the tireless work they put in.
