So while looking through https://reddit.com/r/bitcoin I found this amazing copy of the late @adept 's creation called @steempixels or https://steempixels.com which itself is a copy of Reddit's own Place collaborative Pixel Art Canvas (which you can always demo using the free and infinite https://pixelcanvas.io ) The story is, a year ago I posted this idea for copying reddit's r/place pixel collaboration phenomenon but using Steem selling pixels for steem/SBD and then Adept also had this idea and made it happen, and created @Steempixels https://steempixels.com and now redditors have created their own pay per play Pixel Canvas called Satoshis place and you can now pay 1 Satoshi (usingthe lightening network) per pixel and claim your permanent pixel art canvas! I just wanted to show you all this new creation and I guess many of you are too new to remmeber steempixels so here is a screenshot of the Steempixels canvas with familiar users like @inertia having used it to brand their own user Avatar into this Canvas hopefully forever! So I hope we can all use our SBD to have enough Satoshis to brand our own steem logo into this new Satoshis.place which I suspect will be popular on reddit as long as they keep expanding the Pixel Canvas like pixelcanvas.io does!
So here is Steempixels.com screenshot fromw hen it was running, and although the site is currently down, I hope can still be revived even after @adept 's tragic passing (he was such a valuable developer and its sad hes no longer here to see his work grow!) It would be great to see this project continue living on as a memorial to @adept
That is what a more early version of the canvas looked like, but as you can see the Rick from rick and morty, and other things like a dead Reddit Alien are present, and I also noticed a new steemit inc logo, I'm wondering if someone leaked that new logo on steem pixels before anyone knew what it actually was? Hmmm interesting :)
And here is a screenshot of just how the interface for steempixels was working, and when it was up online it worked great! You would pick a pixel and then you either select it for free and watch someone else erase it or claim it for steem/sbd and then continue to draw something!
I hope we can get this project back up because it was really fun and really showed one of the many uses of steem, something Bitcoin needs the Lightening network to use, and if reddit users are showing off their Satoshi pixel canvas as a use case for the lightening network, well, steem users should be showing off all the many use cases and abilities Steem has, because without any special lightening network us Steemians get to use easy to remember HUMAN memorable usernames, 2 second transaction confirmation times and FREE transactions, all on a simple website steemit.com OR you can choose one of the many wallets like @vessel by @jesta or the @esteemapp I mean theres so many great tools and front ends for the Steem ecosystem it is a treat just to get to explore and learn about Steem! The options for creative people are MASSIVE when you find out about Steem, and they will continue to grow but then, just like the inflation rate and the NEW supply of steem, in a few years it does eventually start to diminish and we WILL start to see a LOT more competition but we MUST start NOW and get AHEaD of the game! You can do SO many things with Steem, you can start SO many organizations so many Apps so many front ends but you must start NOW and you have to get yourself a team and learn the skills like spinning up small Steem Front ends that use Steem connect like @disregardfiat has done with his https://dlux.io VR Steem IPFS 3d in browser front end, and it is ANOTHER whole world of possibilities! SEE Right here I made a NEW idea for Steem, a 3d Steem Pixels where you can sell pixels on a massive 3d pixel canvas in a 3d space like a massive 3d art gallery, or maybe you can just sell SPOTS in the gallery where you can upload your own Image OR animated GIF or even small MP4 or maybe you can charge extra for the GIF or VIDEO galleries, that may need to become a separate gallery. But see, if someone combined @disregardfiat 's project Dlux 3d IPFS VR steem front end With the Steempixels.com by the late @adept then you could start selling Ad space inside of 3d worlds that you could make people have to walk by to use different 3d applications. You could sell ad space in a similar manner to the Million Dollar Homepage where a man sold 1 million dollars worth of pixels on a website and this was almost 2 decades ago! Pretty incredible what reddit's free collaborative PLACE ended up looking like when you have ENOUGH people working together!
And with STEEM and the ability to EARN your Steem/SBD from MAKING art on the Steem blockchain, and our free transactions, I could see Steem being the HOME for collaborative art projectslike this because yeah Reddit did it ONCE but to SUSTAIN projects like this, the Best of these pixel artists or art groups must get compensated and on steem they do!
Anyway this Satoshi.pixel could hopefully inspire Steemians to make projects like Steempixels and also SteemMonsters may also want to look at @disregardfiat and his 3d VR IPFS worlds for Steem... Just like Pokemon Go or Pokemon Stadium brought the flat pokemon game into a 3d world, I could see us using @dlux-io by @disregardfiat to bring SteemMonsters into the real world either through phone augmented reality or better yet just 3d worlds where you could use your steem monsters to battle with or even find items to use while battling, I just see SO many possibilities for Steem when you combine all of these tools together!
