To answer your question, @theycallmedan, I am still here for more reasons than I can name right now.

First off, I don't have a Twitter and have ceased using other social mediae at this time, and am not eligible for the upvotes. Thank you for the generous offer :)
Writing this is kind of awkward for me because I don't usually speak up about the goings-on of the steemit. To be honest, the way this whole place actually "works" is above my head. Of course, everything with this firestorm of TRON, etc. etc. is a hot topic right now, and this thing can't be ignored. Like most of us, I can't predict the future of steemit as we know it. I want to see it continue to grow and thrive as it has been, but I just don't know where the cards will fall.
Here's what I do know: steemit is a place where people from all over the place, from all kinds of backgrounds come together - usually in a friendly spirit - to do something that contributes societal value, both on the blockchain and IRL.
When I joined in July 2016, I had no idea what this thing was about, not really. But as I started my time here, steemit became a place I seriously enjoyed coming to. I was exposed to so many different ideas and personalities here, so many back stories, dramas, hilarious anecdotes, the kind of shit that's hard to come by in other places. YES, there have been some bad times. We've had our wars, bad actors, and downright tragedies within the steemiverse. Our beloved steemit friends come and go, whence we know not, nor why. 'Tis a sad rainy cloud.
And yet, this whole thing we call, "steemit" is still here.
Some of us (so many of us) have had to take time away from posting and from steem over the years. But - and here's the part I love! - steemit has been here when we have come back. It's the long-time friend who loves you and always takes you back. (Well, that's how it has been for me, I can't speak for the spamians or anyone else really). Steemit is the sometimes-weird but usually awesome part of the internet that somehow feels like home. I have learned an enormous deal about expectations, consistency and transparency in my time here and for that I am ever grateful.
This is the first time I've posted anything quite like this, but it's an important subject and I want to throw in my two cents, for what it's worth.
Share your two cents and more in the comments, or better yet, make your Why Am I Here post. Thanks for reading, Everyone! Peace!
