It sure looks like it did, at least according to the VICE Whitepaper.

If my reading of the VICE Whitepaper is correct, it looks like the VICE snapshot of the steem blockchain was scheduled to take place at block 18,500. (typo of 18,500,000?)

"Upon the token’s launch, 400,000,000 (10%) of the genesis tokens will be air dropped to Steem holders of block number 18,500 on the Steem Blockchain."

Which means the snapshot happened within the last couple hours if that is indeed a typo.

Cool! What's a snapshot and how does that benefit me?

If you are not familiar with what I mean by "snapshot", basically it just means that the data will be recorded at that point in time and later coins will be airdropped according to the ownership at that time. The time of the snapshot.

I'll give an example of what I am talking about below.

According to the Whitepaper it looks like 400,000,000 million VICE coins will be airdropped on steem owners as of their holdings from a few hours ago.

If you take 400,000,000 and divide it by the current number of steem in circulation, (roughly 263 million), you get roughly 1.52 VICE coins per steem coin.

Which means you can take your steem total and multiple it by 1.52 to see how many vice coins you will receive when they are airdropped.

Using my total as an example, we can see that I would receive 1.52 x 116,000 (my steem power), which would be equal to 176,320 VICE coins.

Cool! How much value is that?

Well, the ICO is pricing VICE coins at $.05 per coin, so to get the total value received based on the ICO price we would just take that 176,320 number and multiple it by $.05.

Which would be equal to $8,816.

Not too shabby for a free dividend!

However, often the ICO price differs significantly from what the coin actually trades for when it goes out into the market place.

What happens if instead of trading for $.05, it trades for $.10 or $.30 or $1.00?

You can do that math from there to see what your air dropped coins might be worth. ;)

It will be up to you to decide whether you want to hold these coins when you receive them to speculate on future price incrases or liquid it them right away to realize your profits.
