I joined steemit about 40 days ago and I must say it is one of the best platforms to promote the original content on the Internet.
Unfortunately there are many who just copy-paste the content from other sites into steemit. Even worse there are some users who steals from other steemit users itself. I was astonished by this case of plagiarism.

The Creative Mind
Humans have the most creative minds among all the creatures. Everyday a mind processes millions of thoughts. These thoughts can be put together in an organized way to create some amazing content with knowledge and experience.
So why do people copy ?
Few reasons I think why people copy are
• They hate hardwork: Copying others content does not require much time and effort.
• Fear of Failure: Many people often feel that their thoughts are worth nothing as compared to others and they feel that their work might get rejected because no one will like it.
• They want to get popular: Some people want to get famous in a short period of time, but they do not realize that there is no shortcut to success.
The Bottom line: Stay Original
While plagiarism seems like the easy way out, but it reduces the desire to be creative in life.
