Well I was away from computers for most of the weekend but I was aware that Steem had been beaten into second place .
The hope now is that when Netcoins review the votes received then we may get restored to first place.
It did seem a little fishy that INS came from nowhere to win the vote, I could understand it with Verge but not a coin like INS, we will see.
Steem does have a "prize " for being in second place which is 25% of a future listing fee and I have seen the witness @dragosroua is proposing that the witnesses chip in and maybe get the now $22500 (rather than $30000) fee together to get Steem listed anyway, it would be great if this came to fruition.
We will see what happens in the fullness of time.
I think I'm correct in saying that Steem ended up with just over 20,000 votes, some parts of the community got right behind the vote and were very active in voting multiple times but I do feel that we should have flown past 20k votes if a few more of the active members had got on board. It's a shame.
All in all still positive though, lets all keep our eyes open for other opportunities including the post by @realwolf which is an effort to get Steem on to Coinbase, definitely worth a read.
