Okay, I read up on the situation going on with Steem and I think I see what's happening.
To those that don't yet know or understand what's happening. Here is how I am understanding it.
The old owner(s) of Steemit, the crew who was developing and guiding the mission of this blockchain decided to sell that and move on. New guy comes in and wants to do things that the community isn't cool with. Things get heated. Things get ridiculous. Witnesses revolt. My gassy dog farts and I have to walk away from writing this to allow the air to clear.
Now, it seems like a fork will happen in an effort to sever the undesired accounts related to the new guy from the new chain and from the community. A sort of digital exorcism to cleans the soul of the blockchain I imagine.
Now people are like "Oh no! What will I do? I have steem power all locked up and I'm scared it will be worthless! Which one do I pick?"
Just shut up. Shut your mouth. Relax.
Breathe.
(don't breathe that much, I don't want your coronas.)
What am I going to do?
I don't see the harm in keeping both accounts going. Since the new Hive will have the same amount of coins, I will still be able to continue using my steem one as I always have, and now I have a new one but at my current level instead of having to start from scratch.
Steem at this point will either die or evolve into whatever they end up doing with it and Hive will go on with its new chain in the pursuit of staying true to the community and staying decentralized.
I will no doubt have a favorite after a while of using both. I can't wait, this is an exciting time.
@SaintChristopher
I'll love Hive every bit as much as I have loved Steem. Ya know, cuz I'm a lover.
Boom.
