Yesterday I focused exclusively on promoting STEEM as an investment through my old social media channels.
Facebook trickery
It was evident immediately on Facebook (where I have a following of 1,795) that very few people were seeing my posts. From the ten posts I made during the course of the day only two people acknowledged them with a thumbs up. When I post about family stuff I will always see in excess of 50 thumbs up. So, my feeling is that FB bots quickly identified certain key words in my posts and minimised their visibility.
Facebook's ability to do this is old news and has been going on for a long time. If you want to reach the walls of ALL the people you are friends with on FB now you have to pay for it. Those who don't pay are at the mercy of algorithms designed to protect the system.
That's one of the reasons we are on Steemit right?
Regardless of the total lack of interaction I really enjoyed my day of total focus on STEEM and improved my overall understanding of how our blockchain works.

This film by @andrarchy particularly inspired me and I wrote down some of his closing words:
Do you want more and more power & money wrapped up in the hands of fewer and fewer individuals? Or do you want that spread out amongst everyone?
People don't invest in cryptocurrencies because they are a get rich scheme. We invest in them because they're an opportunity to create a more open, decentralised & free future for humanity.
Crypto is taking something that a limited number of people are delivering to the community. So, we take a product or service that is effectively being monopolised and without taking up arms or with any form of violence we decentralise that product or service and enable anybody to participate in the wealth .
No protocol is delivering more value and has the potential to deliver orders of magnitude MORE value than the STEEM blockchain.
Thank you @andrarchy for your wisdom. I am going to commit some of these words to memory as I feel they describe our situation rather well.
The magical mystery investor
Right at the end of the day when all hope appeared lost (in my quest to find Steem investors) I received a call from a friend in the UK who recently visited me here in France where he received a few days of crypto training. He told me he has a rich cousin in South Africa looking to invest large quantities of the local currency into crypto.
Haha! He called the right guy at the right moment. I could not have been more prepared. Those of you who follow my daily Law of Attraction ABRAHAM posts will perhaps like me see this as a Vibrational response to my energetic call-out yesterday.
The lady in question had no idea it was SteemBlast and called her cousin by chance. And by chance he called me. Or could it be there is no such thing as chance?
I wanted to speak to her immediately but was told she was currently in a meeting with Richard Branson. Just to give you an idea of the kind of level she is at.
I was told the lady was imagining that her crypto investment would be in Bitcoin, so my job (when a meeting is arranged between us) will be to explain to her why STEEM is a much better investment than Bitcoin. This should not be difficult ;)
Final thoughts
Just because SteemBlast is over doesn't mean we can stop talking about STEEM. Eventually the rising value will do the talking for us but for now we the users are the marketing department and we must play out our role accordingly.

...and I am thinking to keep it this way now. I kinda like it π
