Each of us, before we discovered Steemit, used to be a part of a vast number of social media platforms. Some still are, but that will change soon too! Your basic everyday social networks are Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit and so on. We were leading "normal" lives on our "normal" networks, until Steemit arrived, promising to rewrite the rules. Steemit didn't knock before arriving though, it knocked the door down!
Yes, it has had THAT big of an impact in our lives. Everyday, we hear from more and more about how people's lives have changed for the better. It has managed to pull some out of poverty, even! Such is the power of the platform and I am glad to have joined so early in the project.
Early. That's the keyword. Because unlike Facebook, which has more than a billion users, Steemit has around 30,000 (correct me if I am wrong). That all will change though as the platform grows naturally, and more and more people come in. But WE, early adopters have to have a major hand in that. How you say? Well that is the irony of it. We have to have a mutiny against the very networks we have spent so much of our lives into. Facebook, twitter, instagram and so on. They will be like "Et tu brutus?", But who cares!!
So all you need to do is the following:
- Start promoting Steem on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Reddit. Basically everywhere. Post logos, banners, explanations. Anything and everything that will get people to listen. I, for example, added Steemit to my work profile on Facebook as a "Content Creator". (felt proud as I did it).
- Explain to people exactly what Steemit is and how it rewards users. People are going to be sceptical at first but once you show them your account, and others' too, they will quickly change their minds.
- Explain cryptocurrency to those who don't know still. Find the best possible way to explain cryptocurrency. Many are still new to this idea. I was too when I joined Steemit.
- Support them as they enter the world of Steemit. They are going to need a lot of help. And you are going to give it to them. And they will love it here.
That's it! That's all you need to do! Just think how many friends you have on all your social media. If even 5% of them listen at first that will be a big deal because then they will help you do the same, with their friends. And they will do the same. And so on. And soon, right infront of our very eyes, this sapling called Steem, will grow into a massive tree! And we will all reap the rewards!!
