Steepshot is still little known but once word gets out (and the developers iron out the last bugs) it can seriously boost usage of the steem blockchain. .. And with usage, also the opportunities for abuse.
It makes posting so easy and so pleasant (here the "waterfall" in La Ciutadella Park of Barcelona) that one could reasonably fear a deluge of frivolous, no value posts that will try to chip away at the reward pool.
Posting frivolous stuff on Instagram is without consequences. But here you have a system which associates value with content. For that to be sustainable, like Archimedes we need a "place to stand" and a fulcrum. We need a reference. Absent a clearly stated set of common values, what remains is human decency.
Once Steepshot is let out of "pre-release" mode, combined with an easier user onboarding, we could witness a descent into ever more abusive behaviour - angling for a few cents or a few dollars no matter the price. Unless we manage to build and appeal to some kind of community spirit.
