The Swiss authorities have chosen the village of Rienau, with a population of 1,300, to apply the experience of granting the basic and unconditional basic income to every resident of the village.
The authorities determined the unconditional basic income of between $ 640 and $ 2,600, depending on the age of the beneficiary, and persons over the age of 25 would receive the maximum grant.
This amount will be given to each resident of the town monthly, regardless of his job and the nature of his profession.
The town won the pilot project from 100 other towns, two years after nearly 80 percent of Swiss citizens rejected a proposal to provide basic income in a formal referendum.
It should be noted that the official minimum wage in Switzerland is about 2500 Swiss francs.
