It is often said that the journey of a thousand year begins with a step. To move forward in life one need not to stop moving. Confused? Get me right, staying in one place makes one to be stagnant and to avoid stagnancy one needs to move.
In life things don't actually work the way we think sometimes it may be inversely proportional and another time it may be directly proportional.
If it goes as planned then it is directly proportional and if otherwise it is inversely proportional.
It is therefore a very important thing to set a goal and work towards it.
Command is no guess work it's a display of authority

Three words are to be noted from the topic. These are Focus, Goal and Journey.
FOCUS: It means doing something without being distracted. Distraction comes from the surroundings and avoiding these makes one to be focus.
SOURCEGOAL: It is something one wants to achieve in due time.
SOURCEJOURNEY: It is the movement of someone from one place to another. This is the path one must follow before achieving one's goal.
SOURCE
For a goal to be achieved one must enback on a journey. Many a times the journey might not be smooth as thought.
Quality of Goal
- Goal is defined: A goal set must be existing. Goal should not be an assumption. It must be defined.
- Goal must be definite. This means that it must have a distinct limit.
- Goal should be timing. A goal must have a certain time which it must elapsed.
There are two types of Goals. These include the spiritual goal and the physical goal.
THE SPIRITUAL GOAL
Philippians 3:15-18 So let's keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision - you'll see it yet! Now that we're on the right track, let's stay on it. Stick with me, friends. Keep track of those you see running this same course, headed for this same goal. There are many out there taking other paths, choosing other goals, and trying to get you to go along with them. I've warned you of them many times; sadly, I'm having to do it again. All they want is easy street. They hate Christ's Cross.
As Christians our goal is the kingdom of heaven where the crowns are waiting for us. It very important that we focus on the goal and not the journey.
PEOPLE WHO FOCUS ON THEIR GOALS
- Joshua: Joshua was the man that took after Moses. He was a man of determination.
Joshua 24:15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD
- JESUS: The son of man came to this world to destroy the works of devil. All the plans of the devil to nullify this was rendered useless because of the determination and focus he had on the goal.
The scripture says... Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”(Matthew 28:38-39)
- PAUL: Apostle Paul was a great man of of God who was very rugged to preaching the Gospel. He did not focus on the journey but rather on the Goal. He was very determined.
Philippians 3:14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
HOW TO REMAIN FOCUS
Know your GOD: Knowing the king makes one to be conscious of kingdom.
The scripture says...And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong, and do exploits (Daniel 11:32)Determination: Determination is another key factor that aid in achieving one's goal.
Romans 8:38-39 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.NOTE: In chritiandom God is very interested in the journey. It is not the end that justifies the means *the means is very important in this chritiandom* The scripture says *Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.*(1 Cor 9:24) Let us therefore run according to the kingdom rules for us to get the prize.
