I have read that in Japan they have this maple tempura called “momiji”. It’s a deep fried leaves from maple tree. Japanese have been cooking these for about 700 years already. During the fall they are collecting the dried leaves (actually they are selecting yellow color, other colors having different taste) placed in a barrel, soak it with salt and let it stay for a year for a nice taste result.
Genesis 1:29
Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food".
It’s so amazing that from a common leaves they made it into to a yummy snack food. We should try this once we visit Japan the near future.
