@faitherz33 and I have been having an amazing time here at Steemfest. One of the best parts is getting to know the actual people behind the usernames that we interact with on the blockchain and within the different discord communities.
The cool dude in the picture above is @zlatan-spielberg. He is a hilarious guy to hang out with. Last night during dinner and drinks, some of the amazing people from Team Malaysia were sharing some of the treats that they brought here to share with everyone, and we were all talking about some of the food we liked and @faitherz33 and I said we don't like seafood at all, but @zlatan-spielberg said he loved it, so they gave him a dehydrated fish snack from their country to try.
I didn't think it was the most pleasant smelling thing in the world, and it was so funny to watch his face as he took a huge bite of it. You could see that he instantly regretted the size of the bite as he was trying to swallow the mouthful of the fish snack. He was a champ though and swallowed it and let them know that he was going to keep the rest of the fish for a later time and possibly share it with his children after he gets married in a few years and they have kids and they are grown up.
@anomadsoul is also @zlatan-spielberg's brother and it has been awesome getting to know him more as well. Him and I have been getting to know each other prior to Steem Fest because of @ocd and @creativecoin collaborating more, but it has been really cool to get to know each other on a more personal level outside of anything to do with Steem.
It is also really cool to see the relationship that he and his brother have. That is one of the things that I think is the coolest about these two. The energy that the two of them have when they are together is really genuine and just a ton of fun to be around. Eric even tried to convince my wife and I that he was in his mid 40s, but I had @zlatan-spielberg thinking that I was in my 60s and the reason I looked so young was because I ate a lot of fruit.
@livinguktaiwan is another person that I was looking forward to meeting. It has been really cool to meet some of the other curators for @ocd while we have been here. It is also really awesome to see people genuinely excited to meet my wife as well. She has been welcomed into the community by so many great people since we have been here.
The women of Team Malaysia have been extra special to my wife, which has been super awesome. I am going to have to get some pictures of all of them over the next two days. One of the things that I regretted last year was not taking the time to get enough pictures of the other Steemians while I was at Steem Fest, so this year, I am going to try a lot harder to get more pictures of everyone because there are so many cool people here.
@firepower and the rest of his team have been doing so much to make sure that things run smoothly. They are the grease that makes the Steem Fest wheels keep turning. I really appreciate EVERYTHING that they have been doing to make sure that all of us are able to have such an awesome time here.
The first day before registration, my wife and I met up with @firepower to deliver the postcards from @guiltyparties and then the bracelets that we were putting in the goodie bags, but then we ended up chatting with him for about another hour and a half or so about just about everything. He is a genuine guy that really loves the community here and loves the blockchain and it is awesome to be able to spend time getting to know him more.
I really don't know what to say about these two here except that I owe them both a huge debt of gratitude for everything they are doing to make sure that Steem Fest is amazing. @roelandp jumped through so many hurdles to make sure that this Steem Fest happened and that it has been so awesome. @arcange is such a genuine guy that just wants to make sure we have fun and engage with each other.
The Steem Fest app is amazing and the engagement aspect where we scan each other's barcode and have to wait 2 minutes and talk to each other and get to know each other has been a fun way for all of us to learn a little more about everyone. Now for this year, @arcange introduced the #proof-of-hug concept which is a hilariously awesome way to get more engagement out of everyone. So with this picture of @roelandp and @arcange hugging, I am expecting to get my 5 bonus points for sharing their picture, lol.
Both of these guys have a tremendous amount of love for everyone here and you can feel that when you talk to them. They really are amazing members of the blockchain.
I need more pictures
Over the next two days I will be taking more pictures of the rest of the people here at Steem Fest and scanning more badges so that I can get more contacts with everyone. There are so many amazing people not only here at Steem Fest, but on the Steem blockchain as a whole.
