So not only was SteemFest an amazing experience for @apshamilton, meeting lots of wonderful like minded people and having excellent discussions, JPB Liberty had an excellent SteemFest too in advancing the class action against Facebook & Google's Crypto Ad Ban.
It was great how supportive people were of fighting back against Facebook & Google's attack on the Cryptocosm, on us!
Some people were skeptical about our prospects at first.
But once I explained the way the Australian law on anti-competitive behaviour and class actions worked, people understood that we have a good shot at rectifying a real injustice.
I heard from a lot of people about how their decentralised crypto projects had been harmed by the inability to advertise to the mainstream "normies" on all the major online advertising platforms (controlled by Facebook, Google and their co-conspirators in the Crypto Ad Ban). Some projects had died because of it.
And obviously the vast majority of serious Steemians at SteemFest have lost a lot of money from the 50%+ market drop that occurred in the week after Facebook banned Crytpo Ads on 30 Jan 2018 and the further 30% drop that occurred when Google joined in on 15 March 2018.
We had a lot of big class member signups at SteemFest and thanks to everyone who joined the class action. I obviously won't say who you are (we take confidentiality seriously) but give yourself a pat on the back.
And we now have class member signups from 15 countries! While not as impressive as SteemFest's 47 countries, it shows real diversity including places as different as Pakistan & Israel, the USA & UAE, the UK & Brazil, Bangladesh & Australia, Serbia & Nigeria, Canada & Thailand, Turkey, South Africa and Malaysia.
