It's not what you might think. I was really tired, but I didn't drink to excess. My throat was sore from several days of almost non-stop talking, but then it turned into something else. I now have a streaming nose and a thick head, so I must have picked up some bug. I'm just happy that it didn't affect my Steemfest experience.
I've seen some reports of the final day, such as this by @camuel. The salt mine looks awesome and I'm sorry I missed it. Next time I need to stay until the end.
I did at least get to see some of the city. The Saturday boat ride was relaxing. It was cold to start with, but warmed up nicely. I've heard that they suffer pollution from burning coal, but the skies were clear. I saw a lot of cyclists wearing smog masks. It might be an issue if you were running there all the time.
After the boat a crowd of us went looking for a late lunch, but we were too many to fit in anywhere. In the end I went with @shanibeer and @gillianpierce to a little place that did nice dumplings. I tried to post a Let's Eat review, but the app was playing up for me.
After that I wandered off. The Steemfest app had a cool audio tour and I was able to do part of that whilst weaving through the big crowds who were there for the national day centenial celebrations. I need to go back to Krakow to explore it properly. The castle looked impressive from the outside.
I took in the eSteem party and Beer Saturday meetup before a fairly early night.
I had to be up fairly early to get my flight. I walked to the station to get a train to the airport where I met up with @slayerkm and his brother. Their flight was running pretty late.
My flight was fine. I even got a set of seats to myself and then we had the two minute silence at altitude. I was home not long after lunch, but by then I was feeling rough.
If you can get to any sort of Steem meetup then I recommend it. There's no substitute for face to face chats. It brings people closer together and the friendships will help you in your journey here. This diverse bunch of people is so welcoming and I'm proud to be a part of the community.
