You can land on any of your favorite planets and start building and living there. You need to build your place and grow things to make your living. You act like a manager and manage the stuff like providing oxygen, food and water to your squad.
In the game you play the role of the base architect and manager, telling your colonists where to build the structures they will need to survive. You will have to ensure that they have an constant supply of oxygen, food and water to stay alive.
