What started off as a Z-shaped robot - the Stickman, has transformed into a humanoid looking stuntbot - the Stuntronics. The following video shows the evolution of the acrobatic robot from it’s early days into it’s current form which may affect the livelihoods of stunt doubles in the trade:
The Stuntronics robot is packed with sensors and has the ability to vary its stunt flips over extended periods of use. Soon it will not be possible to discern if a stunt has been performed in CG mode, by a stunt robot or by a flesh & bone stunt person.
The Stuntronics robot may be used to thrill audiences at their theme parks around the world who strive to be entertained in more imaginative ways.
