The service life of a Fennec wind turbine is approx. 50 years, with little maintenance. This is achieved by the aluminium alloy used in aviation, which has a high corrosion resistance. The aluminium blades with a weight of only 1 kg per metre and the hyperboloid shell structure ensure a low starting speed and rotation frequency that generates energy even in light winds. Due to the low frequency of only 60 to 90 revolutions per minute, the noise level is very low and therefore also suitable for use in cities. Due to the compact design, it can also be used in difficult to reach regions and under harsh climatic conditions.
