In the desert areas of Chile, the solar panels used quickly lose their performance due to the sand dust. Another problem is that in this dry region no water can be used to clean the solar modules of the photovoltaic systems. The INTI-TECH robots use brushes driven by solar energy. During the day the charging is done and at night when the solar panels are not working the cleaning is done. After the first successful tests, a fleet of 4000 cleaning robots is planned.
