While many people are captivated by the vinyl sound, not everyone enjoys uncomfortable playback functions. The average turntable will not repeat the record when it gets to the end, letting you skip tracks or even 'playlist' programs, all from the comfort of your favorite chair.
The Zephyr Apollo record player promises to do all this, saving your knees from the couch to the tonearm whenever you want to change tracks while promising high-end, hi-fi sound.
"Analog voice, digital technology" is a sale, with turntables aimed at combining a high-end analogue deck with digital controls that, while not a new invention - many top-end turntables in the 70s and 80s have automatic returns, because example - is rarely seen on turntables now. Control your vinyl from the app on your phone will certainly be a touch of the 21st century, however.
For an important business in playing your notes, Apollo Zephyr uses a tangential bulge. This design keeps the cartridge aligned with the turntable during playback, mimicking how to record the original during the cutting process. This means a more accurate and better sound.
Plastic plates are controlled by high-end micro-stepping motors and belt drive systems. There is a tonearm automatic balance balancing design that should reduce the stress on the stylus, which is good for your audio quality and vinyl endurance.
The 5in touchscreen display gives you access to the intelligent playback feature, works together with an optical scanner on tonearm to give you track-by-track control. Tonearm can return automatically back to the beginning at the end of a recording, or skip to a particular track. You can even program the entire playlist.
This can all be done through the view, but the layer on this smart cake is the promise of Bluetooth remote control, allowing you to replicate this control via Android or iOS app on your phone.
