The Story
Back in the year of 1986 Puma brand released the world's first smart snickers. With a computer chip on the heel runners could compare runs count calories, distance, time which connected to a computer via cable to retrieve information.
Today
Puma reissues the snickers with a huge upgrade but keeping the same retro look. Only 86 were sold at $500 the number 86 represents the year they were released.
The upgrade
- Sensors: Accelerometer to measure calories, distance and time.
- Wireless: Bluetooth connects to Android and iOS
- Shoe app
- Memory up to 30 days of information storage
- LED lights
- Rechargeable Battery via USB cable
Definetely for a collector of retro tech if you can get your hands on a pair on resale!
