This is top-tech! Faller has been selling a model car system that ran using a steel wire in the road control the vehicle's route for quite a while but now they've gone digital!
The new digital version uses 'satellites' attached to your ceiling to control the tiny 1:72 scale vehicles to follow a defined path along your road, the motors and steering apparatus in the vehicles is a marvel of miniature engineering and technology.
The vehicles also have programmable turn-lights, front and rear lights and brake lights. Even the acceleration and braking can be adjusted!
Accessories include traffic lights, bus stops and level crossings and its all controlled by alow power 2-way transmission system running on the 868 to 870Mhz frequency and controlled by a PC.
Purchasers of the older analogue system are not forgotten with upgrade kits available.
A Starter kit is 699Euros without a vehicle, which start around 300Euros each. Cool costs!
