We’ve had the SB-16 specially in our taxing chambers for several months nowadays — not as we’re overly lethargic to persuade it out (though it does weigh in at a brawny 122 pounds), but for the reason that we haven’t establish no matter which admirable to ferry its place. This sub woofer has befitted our measuring stick, which force in reality be unfair to the competition — it’s that good. Beneath a sleek, modish exterior, the cubic SB-16 houses a colossal 16-inch especially driver with an 8-inch, edge-wound enunciate coil, and a bizarre 1,500 watt nonstop luge amplifier with discrete MOSFET output which tops out at 5,000 watts topmost power.
All of this is to say: No material how you’re by the SB-16, it impresses. Gunshots and explosions in films enter with a beefy wallop to the chest, and the associate manages low-end instrumentation beautifully, allowing acoustic bass to bounce smoothly as electronic bass and kick drums shake the foundations of your home.
