it's hard to believe it but it's happening, 60 of these (there will be over 12,000) are already up there, if this happens and they can keep up with the production, the placement and keep things from not bumping into each other (jk) we could end up with a globally connected world where no place on earth does not have a connection -- think about that for a moment, no more sims, no more carriers? just a global network... certainly makes the tesla internet connectivity interesting all of a sudden right?
SpaceX is developing a low latency, broadband internet system to meet the needs of consumers across the globe. Enabled by a constellation of low Earth orbit satellites, Starlink will provide fast, reliable internet to populations with little or no connectivity, including those in rural communities and places where existing services are too expensive or unreliable.
