Hello everyone,
Today's update has been predominantly born out of a quick Wallet check last night where I saw an unexpected transaction which at first excited me, and then moved on to embarrassment, read on for more...

The past week has been hectic, the 1000 things to do in relation to moving house (country!) plus a weekend away in the south of Spain meant I didn't have much time for Steemit - I just caught @ned's intoduction to SMT (which looks brilliant for Steem down the line) and then drove to meet a bunch of school friends - 12 new people to talk to Steem/Steemit about at least and I expect to see some of them here soon enough :)
So yesterday evening I'm checking my wallet and I spot this:

Great! Errr, what? A payout relating to Charity? From another user? What's all this then?!
It turns out @uwelang had written a blog regarding 'Our project in Nepal' - a blog I had written, now 20 days ago.

And this is what he had to say:

As I was reading the post, I felt so guilty for my lack of knowledge about his kind words and support of the project. Clearly @uwelang is a modest man, who perhaps doesn't feel like 'advertising' his own blogs elsewhere. The commentators/viewers of his blog didn't think to drop a reply to me anywhere either. This is fine, and although 'connecting' people is something I quite like to do, it's not a duty, or the work of anyone else.
The real kicker for me is that the steemit.com interface has no 'mentions' feature either - I do think this would be a valuable addition, if only to avoid embarrassment for others in the future. I'm not holding my breath though, the talk around SMTs clearly shows this is priority now.... good, and bad.
I am aware there are tools (anyone got a link?) where you can check your 'mentions', but as a Minnow I don't expect to get any press elsewhere, so why would I check? This is a push notification surely!
Anyway, apologies @uwelang, and thank you very much. You are a star! And yes, I'm now a fond follower of your work :)
After 13 months in Valencia, Spain, it is time to hit the road(sky) again for a month long break in Mallorca, of Balearic Islands fame. To conserve cash, we've lucked out at my mothers small empty apartment on the east coast and this will be our base while we prepare for Steemfest 2, and then 5 days later, Nepal. What a journey we have planned - I'm scared, nervous, and pretty flipping excited! Fingers crossed all goes to plan for us!
Any travel tips or Steemfest gossip is welcome in the comments, or if anyone is visiting Mallorca in the next month - get in touch for a beer!
- I have my voting power back to an acceptable percentage! After a month in the 50's and lower due to a small voting addiction, the weekend away gave me a chance to re-fuel. Awesome!
My curation rewards analysis blog was well received again, so thank you very much for your support with that
And finally, I look forward to bringing some more travel orientated posts in the next month as we plan to explore some of Mallorca's 'calas' or 'coves' in search of some quiet, picturesque beaches
Thanks for reading today!
Asher
