Here is my first Github Post for Steemit Condenser about how we can add a 30 sec to 1 min long video about Password Safety that would be mandatory to watch when you signup, with the Video simply having a single actor standing in front of a Steemit and Steem logos.. maybe @ned or @andrarchy maybe 30 seconds long that explains how their PASSWORD can NOT be reset or recovered and that they MUST back it up preferably on Pen and PAPER and then locked away in Duplicate in multiple parts of a house, or just use Lastpass.com or another possible future partner we could use or clone to help recover keys, maybe force users to do an email backup that is encrypted with a regular password and link just like Exodus has to give you an Email Backup Option.

Below is the actual Copy of my first github Post :) I will keep posting issues and fixes (pull requests) to them as the protocol states. I will try to have FUn following these rules by PAYING others via UPVOTE to format my posts FOR me into correct formatting so i can more easily FLOW my ideas AND provide some semi employment while helping people become part of a wannabe development team and i like wanting to be things :) OK enjoy reading my Idea to Help Steemit SIgnup Page by adding a Mandatory 30 second top 1 minute short video about just how important saving and backing up your private owner key is, and how steemit cannot just recover or reset your steem password, so let us get that info cemented into users heads AS they are signing up! :D The following is a copy of my Steemit Github Issue which i will follow with a Pull Request (After I get This actual formatting of "issue" reporting down to a skill :D I am already ADDICTED to HELPING and CONTRIBUTING to Steem with various ideas that can actually be voted on and implemented etc! I will make it COOL to want to contribute to condenser, SMTs, AND the newly Announced Open Source @utopian-io Steem App which will be HUGE but anyway here is my Github Request for Mandatory Educational Video showing new users at our registration page the importance of Private Key Backups and that Steemit cannot reset your key.
And in the future maybe I can even write a proposal for an @exodus Wallet style password protected EMAIL Backup Link that lets you click a link they send you in an email,m login with a password you have to actually choose similar to BIP38 etc or Exodus's Backup Link password that you then need when you need that backup link to restore a wallet, it asks for it,and so that is one way you can do a simple backup on STEEM especially in the new opensource steem APP which can be a BASE for all STeem account creation, it can hold keys like lastpass.,com or have a partnership with lastpass.com to redirect ALL new users to a mandatory backup of their new steem keys online with a password they then choose, even adding features like a recovery partner who can recover your lastpass if its inactive for however many months you set it to. Please don't over look these simple solutions!

We all know there is a problem with many users expecting there to be a Password Recovery System. Too many users are losing unrecoverable passwords, and until we have a main Steem or Steemit App with a full suite of key backup features similar to Exodus email backup, we must simply educate our new users with a simple Video with useful and educational content and someone demanding attention in one way or another to ensure the user understands in crystal clear terms that they must save their Password for steem because it is a cryptocurrency key like Bitcoin where once you loose it, no one can recover it because of the decentralized nature of the system. Too many users are ending up loosing passwords and then telling others about their terrible user experience of making money and getting locked out of it, essentially loosing it because what they felt was a lack of communication from Steemit Inc or whoever created their account, about how serious it is to not loose a steem password.
If we can educate more users when they first signup, perhaps by placing an educational video made by the steemit inc team simply of 1 person, maybe even Ned, which explains to users that saving their key is necessary, serious, and when it is given to them it should never be called a password except in parenthesis after PRIVATE KEY which should be in all caps, red, and have multiple warning boxes around it which make it EXTREMELY clear that "WARNING: THIS IS A STEEM PRIVATE KEY, AND IT IS YOUR PASSWORD WHICH CAN NEVER BE RESET SO DONT LOOSE IT!"
Something like the above text should actually help us cut down on users who just don't ever get the idea that they cannot ever have a forgotten password reset.
The lack of a password reset is a very unique feature to steem which almost no other crypto websites use, and since steem is one of the first revolutionary ground breaking crypto social media that anyone can use, it will have many users who will come here from Facebook Twitter Youtube etc which are all websites which CAN reset your password and very easily using multiple backup methods including a final manual backup that involved a phone or email verification with a customer support person. This is an important distinction to make that Steem is NOT like the normal website which can just reset your password. I believe we can solve this problem of users losing passwords with a few simple red text boxes in all caps on the Signup Page and a embedded short youtube link to a Video that plays during Signup maybe only 30 seconds to 1 minute but which can be mandatory and display a frivolous loading screen behind it to make a user believe their account is being "processed" (which it technically will be) and while they wait they must watch this video, and the video can have Ned or someone like Andrarchy, explaining that you must backup your steem password! (maybe to lastpass or another service we can even partner with officially in the future) and then after watching the video they can get their account now having been Told that they Cannot loose the password! And they should again be reminded the VERY first time they log in and maybe even the second time if possible . (I will give upvotes to any artists like @web-gnar who can somehow add steem in a cool way to THIS ANimated GIF like maybe with steem being blown out of the screen.. and PLEASE make sure you go on ONE new discord a day a POPULAR one you can look up on Google and promote steem there do the same with setting goals to promote your own steem blogs about how to easily earn money with steem posting funny crypto memes, by posting on steem or dmania.io and dlive.io getting paid just posting... and when you promote your own steem blog on legacy social media you can recruit for us users but also INVESTORS who end up wanting and BUYTING Steempower THOSE are the people we NEEED to recruit on MASS and we can push steem as HIGH as we want in price when we have millions of new professional curators, successful people from soundcloud youtube twitch who just may not be making much on old social media and just need a new boost from STEEM! So Let's make sure new users are reminded to save their passwords when they sign up with short videos that are mandatory to watch during signup, but also this new @utopian-io Open Source Steem App can allow us to build things like a partnership with an opensource version of something like LAstpass where users can go use a system like lastpass but an opensource cloud password saving version that would be able to integrate into steem SO well that just like EXODUS wallet, when you need your actual crypto private keys recovered and your money restored, even if you never wrote down your keys you can use the email backup link which just sends you an email with a special link you need your own password to get in... THAT can be what STEEM uses to help users stay safe and not have to do anything more than choose a farily strong personal password like exodus to THEN use to Unlock your BACKUP email and if STEEM had this it would save SO much potential grief! and I HOPE @ned @inertia and @timcliff can tell me what they think :) Ever since my now not running but idea localaltcoins.co that just ran on steem posts, that KISS Keep It Simple Stupid and I agree with that principle to just keep things on Steem simple...
So just using a service like lastpass or cloning it or using its opensource version, we could build it INTO Steemit.com signup and make sure NO ONE looses their steem key ever again when they sign up through Steemit and the new steem App :) I have been ASKING for a STEM App ever since they OFFERED to kind of make one and i am SO GLAD they are doing what I asked for because they said they wanted to do steemit fork on utopian and hey ... I ALSO asked for A STEEMCONNECT Chrome extension or App to allow you to Always be logged in like MEW or Metamask allows you to stay into that shit on ethereum Scatter is the version for es and STeemconnect could have something like that for steem, BUT hey anyway Ill write a pull request and issue about THAt one now :) Thanks to @inertia and @fyrstikken for their steemspeak.com discord which helped me learn so much and who inspired me to actually go on github and contribute! Inertia would always say :Make a pull request" Now I finally am!
