A great data visualization tool Internet Historian allowed me to turn my web browsing history into visual form!
And I as delighted to see my Steemit circle is much bigger than my Reddit circle! As I have been using less Reddit and MORE Steemit! Honestly even without thinking of the censorship and archiving of posts...Steemit really shows us how greedy the people who run Reddit are and always have been, since they never share a dime of their ad money with their content submitters which are their users! Anyone who creates content that drives traffic and ad revenue should have been given a share of the money a long time ago...and now Reddit's greed is costing them! the mass exodus from reddit to Steemit has begun!

Thank you Steemit for allowing us to register with our existing Reddit Account! NOW we should allow for a Steemit referral affiliate signup system where you earn a portion of the new user startup fund amount or earn a small portion of their very first couple bucks worth of steem dollars or some other way to earn a little extra for getting new users to sign up! And maybe even a OPTIONAL Opt In Advertising system that allows people to opt in to seeing ads either on steemit itself or in individual posts and all sorts of ways to share the revenue...Anyway just a thought) But one thing is for certain, we must start creating sub steemits categories of all the following popular reddit categories or "subreddits"
Reddit's success is based partly on its free ability to create subreddits! We must take our subreddits back and stop this insanity where only a few elite reddit corporate employees and CEOs and private investors and board members get to share in the profit of the millions and millions of Upvotes! OUR upvotes! (Yes yes i know many will argue that Reddit only can afford to hire a few people and they dont make enough in ad money but Reddit is huge with over 700 million users and front page reddit posts are getting tens of thousand sof upvotes...and not a dime of that increased ad money goes to any of those redditors who both submit content and "curate" with useful comments that get upvoted into the thousands as well....Reddit's vertical administration is in stark contrast to Steemits decentralized horizontal blockchain "witness" system!
I found a great steemit article by @someguy123 about how the witness system works (again i find everything about steemit ON steemit , a promising sign!)
https://steemit.com/witness-category/@someguy123/seriously-what-is-a-witness-why-should-i-care-how-do-i-become-one-answer
Which explains how "A witness plays a crucial part in how the STEEM network functions. Some people might not be aware of this, but Steemit is just a fancy web interface on top of a large network called STEEM, which operates remotely similar to Bitcoin. Simple Definition:A STEEM witness is a person whom operates a witness server (which produces blocks), and publishes a price feed of STEEM/USD to the network."
(From great steemit post by @fubar-BDHR https://steemit.com/steemit/@fubar-bdhr/promoting-steemit-results-from-one-week-of-ads I have noticed that when searching for steemit related topics people choose to keep them all on steemit! Its like a magnet sucking up all of its own self referential content incentivizng people to talk about steemit ON steemit!
But Reddit had its chance...and now we shall take their subreddits and we should EVEN ADVERTISE on Reddit on PARTICULAR subreddits with Ads promoting our STEEMIT alternative! For example we run an ad on the MildlyInteresting subreddit with some sales copy like "Tired of never getting paid for your popular reddit posts? Now you can get PAID for your mildly interesting posts and everything else you post on reddit!" and we can seriously run a cut throat ad campaign to seriously advertise the $2 bonus just to signup for steemit and maybe even offer more from the reddit ad, the money will be paid back in the traffic new users will create and content they submit ...I believe we could run a very ruthless ad campaign on reddit and get aLOT of people to switch to steemit and all we have to do is show the top steemit posts and how there are a bunch of $100-$1000 steemit posts inciting redditors with cold hard cash! And explaining how they are paid in crypto currecy that might very well jump in value like bitcoin and make them rich one day is also very exciting for redditors especially power users who are tired of never getting paid by reddit at all for their years of free labor! Reddit slaves come to Steemit! Let my people GO reddit!
...and i hate even giving Reddit Any publicity but we must "know our enemy" lol i know its not a war and reddit is a competitor not an "enemy" but its just fun to pretend there is a war going on with Reddit and we can have fun with all sorts of metaphors from history and warfare like how we are making raids on small reddit villages (subreddits) and taking their women and children, or metaphors about being in world war 2 and how steemit annexes parts of reddit by taking whole subreddit populations especially ones that reddit bans, they pop up over here on Steemit!
And like I've said in my previous posts, we need to take whatever we want from popular subreddits like "showertThoughts" or "mildlyinteresting" and "ask me anything" or "explain to me like im 5" we should be creating content for those but inside steemit! and we NEED to allow steemit users to create any category or "substeemit" they want and become the moderators of it instantly like when creating a subreddit in reddit....thats one of the attractive features of reddit we NEED here....substeemit creation, or we call it a "Boiler" or 'SteemBoiler" like its one of our "steem boilers" while STEEM blockchain crypto currency is the "Steem turbine"
This is just an example, I try to stay A political here, Censorship or right wing or left wing or any political position is wrong and should be avoided!
A Graph showing account signups per day on Steemit
and reddit keeps growing but we might coexist peacefully with reddit, i guess its popularity is too massive and many people lurk and dont submit content.....but when everyone starts exclusivly posting to steemit and not on reddit people will be forced to follow them if they want the same good content!
But Reddit doesnt have a cryptocurrency! Reddit cant do THIS
And as long as Steemit is around people will switch! Money is a powerful incentive! And Redditors know first hand how many upvotes they can get by simply posting interesting content! People will see all their thousands of karma and WISH karma was a crypto currency! I forsee Reddit being forced to release a karma crypto currency in order to survive in the future and Steemit will already be WAY ahead of them!
