Just a quick comment on some recent events. As you may have heard, both the Facebook and the Twitter stock has taken a bit of a tumble recently. It went down to about 176 USD losing about 20% of its value last Thursday shaving about 120 billion USD off its value. It is now down to 171. Twitter took a tumble of similar proportions; apparently, Netflix is not doing so hot either.
So what is behind this? I suspect, a lot of things - but, likely, political correctness and censorship are contributing factors too, People are likely growing sick of being treated like silly children on these platforms, even if the realization may not be a conscious one for some.
So what does this mean for Steemit? I think this may spell major opportunity.
Steemit, Gab, Minds should all mobilize and try to grab as many of those disillusioned with Facebook, Twitter and the like as humanly possible. These giants may not fall in a day - it is a process. So we need to be patient and keep on chipping away at them - and eventually they will crumble.
But for now this looks like a good time to launch another major promotion campaign for Steemit. We may have many enthusiastic newcomers waiting in the wings.
