This is my displeased face, Steemit I love your platform and your wonderful eclectic range of blog posters. Every day I am finding new and interesting people posting varied and rich content - from Photography to educational and just straight fun and general interest posts this platform has the opportunity to be amazing...
BUT, it has taken me one whole hour tonight to upvote and reply to two posts - not because I am lazy or because I was doing other things inbetween - simply because I press the upvote button and it spins for ages and finally times out. Try again same thing. Close the post and reopen it again, spins a bit more maybe it registers the upvote. Then I reply, press post that hangs forever then gives me Transaction Broadcast Error. Rince repeat multiple times - eventually give up - but then going back to the two post I was trying to comment on - find I have two replies identical on them - even though every time I pressed the button it came up failed -_-
In fact going back to the first one I tried to reply to - it now has 4 replies! So not only is this frustrating while I try to reply, I also look even more of a dimwit then usual by posting the same reply over and over on a post 0_o
Over the past few weeks I have seen many other people post about this, and I just thought it was a glitch and it will improve they will sort it out. But it's getting worse, and what tipped me over the edge is today I can see the whole site CSS layout has been changed - I appreciate that Steemit are trying to make the layout look better and upgrade it, but seriously if the basic and quite fundemental function of Upvoting other peoples posts and commenting on them doesn't work, or is so unreliable and slow with so much lag -very soon nobody is going to on the site to look at the pretty new layout.
Now I know some will say my internet connection is just too slow for this complicated upvote button pressing, so I present this evidence
It's not the fastest in the world, but I'm pretty sure this should be good enough to press a button a website. So of course the next argument is your computer isn't powerful enough or upto date enough to handle the web site.
The software is about as upto date as you can get, and I am quite sure the hardware can handle a web site.
The most frustrating aspect of this at the moment is I enjoy reading everyones posts, and upvoting and commenting - but literally how can I even thing about trying when it takes an hour to do two and then it all messes up? I work a good 12 hours a day, have family at home who need my attention - my time on here is limited it needs to be quick and instant to do these upvotes and replies. Reading through my feed I am seeing more and more people who normally get plenty of upvotes and replies on their posts getting little or none - it's demoralising for content creators to see so little feedback for their work. But it isn't because people don't want to upvote and reply, it's just nearly impossible to do right now.
I know mention has been made of other sites that connect to the steam blockchain and work quicker, but I'm really not happy about sharing passwords with other domains. And I know that no admin of Steemit will ever see this post, but if enough people start posting complaining posts someone will notice.
